My Journey In Crowdfunding

Welcome to Disruptor Nation.
It’s important as we start on this journey together that you
get familiar with crowdfunding or, more specifically, “regulated investment
crowdfunding” as some of my industry friends are wanting to call it. I also
sometimes refer to it as equity crowdfunding, or just crowdfunding, although
that last one muddies the waters a little bit.
The point is that what we’re talking about isn’t Kickstarter
or GoFundMe. The companies and other opportunities Disruptor Nation covers
are not pre-selling you their products, they’re not non-profits, and they’re
not raising money to pay a family member’s medical bills.
This is investing. It’s just not on the stock market.
Fortunately, I just had a great interview with my old friend
and colleague Bill Patalon. Bill is a very sharp guy, and I encourage you to
check out his newsletter, Stock Picker's Corner, on Substack.
As for the interview, for anybody who doesn't know much
about equity crowdfunding, it’s a great overview.
